NCR Corporation mulls acquisition of Bitcoin ATM operator, LibertyX

NCR Corporation, an American software, professional services, consulting and technology company, has orchestrated plans to acquire Bitcoin ATM operator, LibertyX. According to a press release issued by NCR Corp., the acquisition would further its capability to deliver Bitcoin and cryptocurrency buy and sell services to its market.

Tim Vanderham, Chief Technology Officer at NCR, mentions that its customers require a complete digital currency solution which includes the ability to purchase and sell cryptocurrencies, send and receive cross-border remittances, and take digital currency payments across digital and physical channels.

As of now, LibertyX's mobile app or its network of Bitcoin (BTC) ATMs allow users to make crypto purchases at several firms around the United States. The company has 9,500 crypto ATMs in 20,000 retail locations across the United States and has already installed nearly one million ATMs all across the world.

Citing a statement, NCR plans to offer LibertyX's software solutions to shops, banks, and restaurants through its current software wallet and mobile applications. However, its acquisition terms and conditions have not yet been revealed, although they are slated to be disclosed later this year.

NCR has been increasing its contributions to the Bitcoin market. In June, the company said that its 650 credit unions and community banks would shortly be able to offer the option to purchase, sell, and hold bitcoin through its services.

According to credible sources, there are more than 24,481 crypto ATMs in operation worldwide at the time of release, with the market set to rise exponentially in 2021. In addition, Bitcoin Depot, one of the best Cryptocurrency ATM network owners, recently announced a deal with convenience store Circle K, which would result in the installation of over 700 Bitcoin ATMs across the United States and Canada.
